Thespian Troupe

The KHS Thespian Troupe (#4169) is a part of the International Thespian Society.

Our troupe attends the Texas Thespian State Festival every year to perform monologues/musical numbers, present technical projects, attend shows and workshops, and learn more about the theatrical world as a whole.

  • Keller students must be an inducted member of our troupe to attend the festival.
  • Attendees must bring an Individual Event (IE); these events are the performances of numbers/presentations of tech projects, etc. as approved by the Troupe Director.

Being a part of the Thespian Troupe enables students to earn scholarships, find opportunities for theatre, and earn various regalia for graduation. Plus, it looks great on a resume!

Information about auditioning to attend the Texas Thespian State Festival will be posted on the Band App each year in September.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become part of the Troupe?

To join our troupe, you must earn 10 total points based on the Thespian Point Form and be inducted into the troupe at the annual theatre banquet in May.

Points can be earned through participation in many theatre-related events, such as attending performances, going to workshops, performing in a show, taking part in Thespian Festival, etc.

Most students have acquired the minimum number of necessary points to be inducted by the end of their freshman year.

When is the Texas Thespian State Festival?

The Festival is held annually in November, usually at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine.

I was a national qualifier at the Thespian Society. Does Keller High School attend the national convention as a whole?

Our troop does not attend the national conference. The state conference is very robust and offers the same workshops as the state conference. However, if you qualify for the national convention to compete and you would like to attend, you may go with your parent or guardian as a sponsor and the cost is completely on your own.
