Welcome to Keller Theatre

  • Shrek, 2022

We welcome all students to be part of our program, regardless of previous theatre experience. Currently, the program has four theatre directors who teach courses during the school day and direct productions during the after-school hours. Our yearly production calendar traditionally includes a fall play in September, a fall musical in November, a winter play in February, and our UIL One Act Play that competes in March. Additionally, our production classes produce class plays throughout the year and are highly encouraged for students who want to be involved in our theatre program. We hope we can help you find a home within our Keller Theatre family!

01. learn

“I love being a part of Keller Theatre because it’s an amazing way to make friends and form strong connections, as well as grow your talent! Not only have I found a wonderful community, but I’ve also learned amazing skills in communication and time management that I know will carry me forward after I graduate.”

– Lauren Laughlin, KHS Junior

02. thrive

“Theatre is a great program because it teaches you how to feel confident in yourself and how to socialize with others. The ability to interact well with others is such an important life skill, and theatre is a perfect way to develop that while being in a safe environment. It has been perfect for me!”

– Abby Rowntree, KHS Junior

03. succeed

“Theatre students learn to work with different personalities as a cohesive group to accomplish goals on a deadline; they walk away from the stage with skills that will shine long after the theatre lights have faded.”

– Lori Hershey, Booster Member
