Meal Plans
When it comes to tech/dress rehearsals and performance weeks, our theatre students face long evenings from the minute school ends until the time they are released by the directors. And they need to be fed by 4-4:30pm each day during these hectic weeks in order to make it through the rest of the day! However, getting off campus is not always an option … or a good one.
The KHS Theatre Booster Club can help! We make lives easier by helping to ensure that the students are fed every day during the tech/dress rehearsal and performance weeks. Because it’s not convenient for families to drop off meals to their students at 4pm daily across 1-2 weeks, the Boosters offer Meal Plans that can be purchased in advance that will cover students’ needs.
Benefits of the Meal Plan
- It Saves Money: We keep the cost of the daily dinner to $5-7 per student, per day. This is far more cost-effective than most fast-food restaurants can offer!
- It is Delivered for You: Parents don’t have to worry about timing their food drop-off or traffic jams during school release. Their food orders through the Meal Plans will be there waiting for their student at 4pm as scheduled with plenty of time to eat.
- It Keeps Kids on Campus: If students are of driving age and/or have 8th period off, the meal plan encourages them to stay onsite because the limited amount of free time is often still not adequate to combat the distractions they face once they leave. Busy drive-thrus, traffic back-ups, and even distractions at home often lead to late returns to rehearsal and, as a result, worried and frustrated directors.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the meal plan address dietary restrictions and/or food allergies?
Of course! When you purchase your Meal Plan, there will be a place to indicate any special diet restrictions that need to be accommodated.
Can I buy meals a la carte?
No. While we used to offer a la carte meals (meals purchased show by show), we now only offer the Meal Plan as an entire show package. But rest assured, even if your child misses a tech/dress rehearsal or is out sick during a performance, the meal will NOT go to waste. We always have another student who needs a meal.
What types of meals are offered under the Meal Plan?
Examples of restaurants we order from include Chick Fil A, Braum’s, Subway, Joe’s Pizza and Pasta, and more! Additionally, our booster families often put together homemade spreads of deli sandwiches, lasagna, tacos, and even brisket!
